Shabana in hospital, Javed upset

Shabana Azmi is in hospital. She’s been admitted to Jaslok since Wednesday. According to husband Javed Akhtar, the actress complained of pain in the neck below her left ear.
“We later found out this was caused by damage to some membrane,” the renowned Bollywood lyricist said vaguely. “Though it’s not life threatening, she has been in excruciating pain and it really hurts to see someone you love in so much pain.Poor girl, she went through a lot. She said that it was like as if current was passing through her body!”
Though her MRI reports and CT scan are clear, the doctors attending to Shabana are probing various reasons that could explain her pain. “It could also be because of the weight gain or because of spondylitis that she had many years back,” Javed suggested, referring to the physical discomfort his wife recently went through when her cholesterol and triglycerides levels shot up after she put on 25 kg for Gurinder Chadda’s It’s a Beautiful Afterlife. Shabana had to be hospitalised then, too. The actress is likely to be discharged today.
